What is the benefit of centre grinding with the ZS 250 series?
Centre grinding with the ZS 250 series brings high precision to the entire machining process. The perfected centre hole achieves roundness up to 1 µm and below. The ZS 250 series offers enormous independence in contrast to other series. This is because it can process large workpiece dimensions, such as those used in turbines or tunnel boring machines (even beyond 20m).

How do the ZS 250 series centre grinders work?
With the ZS 250 series,the deformed centring holes are reprocessed after hardening. The workpiece is clamped on the lathe jaw chuck and rests on a steady rest. To preset the workpiece the operator moves the tip to the workpiece with a cross slide. He then adjusts the adjustable bolts of the steady rest on the workpiece. With the eccentric and the dial gauge, he measures the workpiece on the outside diameter. If necessary, the operator makes the appropriate centre correction with the X-axis adjustment. The centre grinding machine starts grinding the centre of the workpiece.
